Sharon Bowles MEP, who represents Buckinghamshire in the European Parliament, is looking forward to welcoming the arrival of the Olympic torch to the county next week.
The torch, which was lit at the Temple of Hera in Athens in May, will arrive in Milton Keynes on Monday 9th July from where it will travel to Oxford via Aylesbury.
Sharon Bowles MEP said:
"Our county has a proud history of involvement with the Olympics. Stoke Mandeville hospital was the birthplace of the Paralympic Games, so it is very fitting that both the Olympic and Paralympic torch relays will pass through Buckinghamshire.
"As a former competitive international rower myself, I will be cheering for our rowing team when they compete at Dorney Lake, and throughout the Games for Team GB's success."
