What Sharon Did Last Week (16th - 20th April)
Monday
Sharonspent the day in the Constituency office to prepare for the week in Plenary in Strasbourg.
Tuesday
Sharon took a midday flight to Basel and went straight to the Parliament.
At 8pm Sharon attended an ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats forEurope) Presidency dinner with José Barroso.
Wednesday
At 8am Sharon attended an ALDE group breakfast meeting.
At 11am Sharon attended a meeting on the manipulation of statistics.
Then Sharon met with Lib Dem Blogger George Potter in her office, see blog post here.
At 2pm Sharon attended the Conference of Committee Chairs.
At 4.30pm Sharon met with Danielle Ballardie, Managing Director at Barclays Capital, and Anna Westbury of Government Relations at Barclays Capital to discuss MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive), followed by a meeting with representatives of Goldman Sachs also regarding MiFID.
At 6pm Sharon attended an ALDE group meeting.
Thursday
Sharon met with delegates from various financial organisations throughout the day regarding MiFID. These organisations include the London Stock Exchange, UBS, AFME (Association for Financial Markets inEurope) and the German Banks Association.
Then at 6pm Sharon attended an ALDE Group meeting.
Friday
At 9am Sharon attended a Shadow Rapporteurs meeting on CRD IV (Capital Requirements Directive IV), followed by a 2nd Trialogue on Omnibus II (Insurance Reform).
At 3.30pm Sharon left the Parliament and travelled to Basel airport where she took a flight back to London.
