What Sharon Did Last Week (Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference 2012)

Saturday

Sharon arrived at Liberal Democrat Autumn Conference at 12pm.

Sunday

Sharon met with Sam Coates, Banking Editor at The Times, at 10.30am.

At 11.30 Sharon met with Ben Duckworth, Editor of Total Politics magazine.

From 1-2pm Sharon participated in a Policy Roundtable on Fair Pensions.

At 3pm Sharon met with members from East Worthing and Adur Liberal Democrats.

From 6-6.45 Sharon participated in the Centreforum and City UK fringe on 'Financial Regulatory Reform Agenda: Help of Hindrance to UK Growth?'

Then from 6.45-7.30pm Sharon spoke at the Tearfund fringe event on 'Global Corruption: None of our Business?'

At 7.30 Sharon attended a business dinner and spoke at the pre-dinner reception.

Monday

At 9am Sharon participated in a Corporate Day Q&A session, followed by a Panel Discussion on 'Why is Europe so important to business?'

From 1-2pm Sharon participated in the Demos Oxfam Fringe on 'Can the Politics of Sustainability Survive the Economic Downturn'.

From 3-5pm Sharon had meetings with David Nish (CEO of Standard Life), Mark Boleat (Policy Chairman at City of London Corporation), and Xavier Rolet (CEO at the London Stock Exchange).

As Vice-Chairman of the British Pub and Beer Group in the European Parliament, Sharon attended the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group from 5.30-6.30pm.

At 6.45pm Sharon attended a speech rehearsal in the Conference auditorium.

Tuesday

From 7.45-9am Sharon participated in the Centreforum and ACCA fringe on 'Sovereign debt in Europe: How can governments manage public finances better?'

At 11am Sharon met with Louise Armistead, Chief Financial Correspondent at The Telegraph.

At 3pm Sharon delivered a speech to Conference on Europe and the current economic and political climate.

Then at 3.30pm Sharon participated in Bloomberg's Financial Services Summit.

At 5.30pm Sharon chatted to Sam Dale of Money Marketing.

Wednesday

Sharon took a morning Eurostar back to Brussels and in order to Chair the ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) Committee.

Sharon Chaired the ECON Committee from 3-6pm where MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive) was voted on.

Thursday

From 9am-12.30pm Sharon attended the trialogue on CRAs (Credit Ratings Agencies)

Sharon attended the EUROFI forum.

Friday

Sharon attended and participated in the EUROFI forum.
