What Sharon Did Last Week (6th - 10th May)

Monday

Sharon took the Eurostar to Brussels arriving at the Parliament at 12.30pm.

At 1.30pm Sharon met with Mr Eric Pan, Associate Director of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, to discuss developments in EMIR (European Market Infrastructure Regulation) and MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive).

At 3pm Sharon attended a preparatory meeting ahead of the first trilogue at 3.30pm on Statistical Framework Regulation.

Then at 5pm Sharon attended a shadows meeting on the 2-pack agreement.

Tuesday

At 9am Sharon took the chair in ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) Committee where and exchange of views took place with Walter Radermacher, Director-General of Eurostat.

Then at 11.30am Sharon participated in a panel discussion and gave a speech on economic governance and banking union at the Blueprint Conference.

Then at 2pm Sharon took the chair in ECON Committee where a vote was taken on gender balance in the finacial sector and an exchange of views took plce with Jeroen Dijsselbloem, President of the Eurogroup, and Algirdas Semeta, Commissioner for Taxation and Customs Union, Audit and Anti-Fraud.

Wednesday

At 9.30am Sharon took the chair in ECON Committee where an economic dialogue took place with Olli Rehn, Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro, and Jörg Asmussen, Member of the executive Board at the ECB (European Central Bank).

Thursday

Sharon travelled back to the UK.

Friday

Sharon spent the day working from her constituency office.
