What Sharon Did Last Week (20th - 24th May)
Monday
Sharon travelled to Strasbourg for the start of plenary.
At 3.45pm Sharon attended an ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) group meeting, followed by and ALDE ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) group meeting at 5pm.
Then at 5.30 Sharon attended an LDEPP (Liberal Democrat European Parliamentary Party) meeting.
At 7.15pm Sharon took the chair in ECON Committee, where votes were taken on EMU (Economic Monetary Union), state aid, reforming the structure of the EU banking sector.
Tuesday
At 9am Sharon met with representatives from UKREP (UK Representation).
Then at 12.30pm Sharon attended votes.
At 2pm Sharon, as chair of the ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) committee, attended a conference for committee chairs.
Then at 4pm Sharon participated in a debate on banking union and single supervisory mechanism.
At 6pm Sharon attended an ALDE group meeting.
Wednesday
At 9.30am Sharon delivered an oral question to the Commission on EMU.
Then at 11am Sharon met with a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce to discuss banking union.
At 12pm Sharon attended votes.
At 2pm Sharon met with the Lithuanian Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vytautas Leskevicius, to discuss the forthcoming Lithuanian Presidency of the European Council.
Then at 2.30pm Sharon attended a shadows meeting on regional aid.
At 6pm Sharon attended an ALDE meeting, followed by a shadows meeting on PRIPs (Packaged Retail Investments Products).
Thursday
At 9am Sharon attended an ECON Co-ordinators meeting on SSM.
At 12pm Sharon attended votes.
Sharon then worked from her Strasbourg office before travelling to Brussels.
Friday
Sharon worked from her Brussels office in the morning before attending and participating in a European Public Hearing on Financial Supervision.
Sharon took a 5pm Eurostar back to London.
