What Sharon Did Last Week (8th - 12th July)

Monday

Sharon took Eurostar to Brussels for the start of committee week.

At 1.30pm Sharon met with Rimantas Sadzius, Minister of Finance for Lithuania.

Then at 2.30pm Sharon took the Chair in ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) committee where a public hearing and monetary dialogue took place with Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank.

At 6.30pm Sharon attended a shadows meeting on EMIR (European Market Infrastructure Regulation).

Tuesday

At 9am Sharon took the Chair in ECON committee.

Then at 12.30pm Sharon attended an Inter-institutional Agreement meeting with the European Central Bank.

At 4pm Sharon took the Chair in ECON committee where an exchange of views took place with Uros Cufer, Minister of Finance of Slovenia, and Rimantas Sadzius, Minister of Finance for Lithuania.

Then at 6.30pm Sharon attended a US delegation preparatory meeting ahead of the delegation to Washington 15th-18th July.

Wednesday

At 9am Sharon chaired the first trilogue on RRD (Recovery and Resolution Directive).

Then at 1.45pm Sharon attended a co-ordinators meeting on SSM (Single Supervisory Mechanism) with Commissioner Michel Barnier, Commissioner for the Internal Market.

At 3pm Sharon chaired a trilogue on Omnibus II.

Thursday

At 10am Sharon met with representatives from HM Treasury to discuss the progress on MiFID (Markets in Financial Instruments Directive).

Sharon then spent the rest of the day working from her Brussels office.

Friday

Sharon travelled into London at 8am to attend the Policy Network Conference at Europe House and participate in the City of London Panel discussion of Reforming Financial Services.
