What Sharon Did Last Week (2nd – 6th September)

Monday

Before catching the Eurostar to Brussels Sharon attended the Good Relations political business breakfast in London.

At 5pm Sharon attended a shadows meeting on Bank Resolution Recovery Directive (BRRD) and Deposit Guarantee Schemes (DGS).

Tuesday

Sharon spent the morning working from her office.

At 12pm Sharon met with Head of the Mission of Switzerland to the EU, Ambassador Roberto Balzaretti, and financial specialist, Mr. Matthias Heer to discuss Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

Then at 2pm Sharon attended in meeting of the Monitoring Group of the United States as Chair of the Economic and Monetary Affairs committee (ECON).

At 4pm Sharon attended a MiFID preparatory meeting ahead of the trilogue.

Wednesday

At 9.30am Sharon chaired the second MiFID trilogue.

Then at 1.30pm Sharon attended a preparatory meeting ahead of the Economic Dialogue with Jeroen Dijsselbloem, President of the Eurogroup.

At 3.30pm Sharon chaired a trialogue on BRRD.

Thursday

At 9am Sharon took the chair in ECON committee.

Then at 1pm Sharon met with the ECON Secretariat to discuss European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).

Sharon then spent the afternoon working from her office.

Friday

Sharon took the Eurostar back to London for a lunch meeting at the London Stock Exchange with Xavier Rolet, CEO of the LSE, to discuss MiFID.
