What Sharon Did Last Week (14th - 18th May)

Monday

Sharon took the 08:57 Eurostar to Brussels, arriving into the office at midday.

At 14:30, Sharon attended the informal ECOFIN meeting with the Troika in the European Council.

At 16:10, Sharon attended an ALDE ECON meeting ahead of the ECON Committee's vote on CRD IV and the 2-pack.

At 16:30, Sharon took to the Chair of the ECON Committee to oversee a session in which votes were taken on the latest version of the Capital Requirements Directive, CRDIV, the Capital Requirements Regulation, and the 2-pack.

Tuesday

At 09:00, Sharon attended a press conference on CRD IV.

At 12:30, Sharon attended an LDEPP meeting with Tim Gordon, the new Chief Executive of the Liberal Democrats.

At 15:30, Sharon attended a meeting with Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar, Chair of the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee, to discuss the Market Abuse Directive (MAD).

At 16:30, Sharon returned to her office for a meeting with Michael Noonan, the Irish Finance Minister, to discuss current issues and in preparation for Ireland's Presidency of the EU in the first half of 2013.

Wednesday

Sharon spent the early morning attending to office administration. After, at 11:00, Sharon had an interview with BBC Record Europe on the latest version of the Capital Requirements Directive, CRD IV.

At 12:15, Sharon returned to her office for a meeting with Angus Canvin, who works for Goldman Sachs, on various legislative matters.

At 14:30, Sharon had a phone call with Antony Manchester, who works for UK REP, to discuss the yesterday's formal ECOFIN meeting. After, Sharon took a call from Anshu Jain, the CEO of Deutsche Bank.

After, at 15:15, Pierre Ecoshard from the ECON Secretariat came to the office to discuss the upcoming ESA 2010 trialogue.

Sharon then prepared for a trialogue at 16:00, the first trialogue for the National and Regional Accounts (ESA) regulation.

Thursday

The European Parliament was closed on Thursday to a Belgian public holiday, and so Sharon travelled back to London in the morning. Upon arrival at 11:00, Sharon met with John Kay, who has been commissioned to do a review of UK equity markets and long-term decision making for BIS.

After, at 12:00, Sharon attended a tripartite meeting in Portcullis House. The meeting was between UK MEPs, the House of Lords European Union Committee and the House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee, and was to discuss financial services regulations, among other things.

Friday

Sharon spent Friday working from home and her constituency office on various pieces of legislation.
