What Sharon Did Last Week (8th-12th October)

Monday

Sharon took a morning Eurostar to Brussels arriving at her office at 1pm.

From 2-3pm Sharon attended an ALDE (Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe) ECON (Economic and Monetary Affairs) group meeting.

Sharon then took the chair in ECON committee at 3pm where Shadow Banking and FISCALIS (taxation in the EU 2014-2020) were discussed, and an exchange of views was heard with Joaquin Almunia, Commissioner for Competition.

Tuesday

At 9am Sharon took the chair in ECON committee where finance for SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) was discussed and a public hearing and monetary dialogue was given by Mario Draghi, President of the ECB.

Then at 12.30 Sharon attended an LDEPP (Liberal Democrat European Parliamentary Party) group meeting.

From 1.30-2pm Sharon spoke with Jill Treanor from The Guardian regarding Sharon's application for Governor of the Bank of England, the article can be read here.

Sharon then took the chair again in ECON committee.

Wednesday

Sharon took the chair in ECON committee at 9am-1pm where a public hearing was given on Banking Supervision.

Sharon then spent the afternoon in her office.

Thursday

Sharon attended a preparatory meeting at 9am on CRD4 (Capital Requirements Directive) and CRR (Capital Requirements Regulation) ahead of the trialogue at 9.30.

At 1.30pm Sharon met with Ms Eniko Gyori, Hungarian Minister of State for European Affairs, regarding Banking Union.

Sharon then had a telephone interview with Jeff Black from Bloomberg.

At 4pm Sharon took a Eurostar back to London.

Friday

At 11am Sharon appeared on Bloomberg, you can watch the interview here.

Sharon then attended a series of meetings in the City.
